Q: What is Retirement Living?

A: Retirement Living, also referred to as Independent Living with Services, is a senior’s living community which offers various services such as housekeeping, meals, recreation and more. Services vary from place to place, so taking a tour of the different communities allows each person to see what differentiates one residence from the next.

Q: When is the right time to make a move to a Retirement Living Community?

A:  We find that most people are looking to move into a Retirement Living community when they or their partner have retired, and they are looking for services to allow them to continue living the retirement lifestyle they deserve.  The perfect time to choose Rotary Villas at Crocus Gardens is when you’re still able to live independently, able to make decisions on own, and able to take advantage of the excellent array of services we offer.

Q: How do I know that Rotary Villas is the right environment for me and offers the services I require?

A: Are you able to…

  • Make decisions on your own behalf?
  • Independently get to and from the dining room for meals, with or without the use of mobility aids?
  • Get dressed independently or with homecare assistance?
  • Meet my hygiene and grooming needs such as getting in and out of the shower independently or with homecare assistance?
  • Manage your bowel and bladder elimination needs independently or with homecare assistance?
  • Take medication independently or with homecare/family assistance?
  • Manage and attend appointments independently or with family assistance?
  • Make phone calls independently to alert family or staff of needs?
  • Wash personal laundry independently or be willing to accept assistance when needed?
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns?
  • Follow our recreation calendar and attend programs that interest you?
  • Elect an emergency contact person to be notified in case of emergency or to manage any personal care needs that exceed Rotary Villas’ services?

Q: What are the benefits to living in a Retirement Living Community?

Q: What is the target age group of residents living at Rotary Villas?

A: We invite anyone over the age of 55 that can benefit from our services to consider making Rotary Villas at Crocus Gardens their home.  As of January 2024, our residents’ ages range from 55 to 98.  

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Our month to month rent program was designed to be all-inclusive. Rental rates will vary based on which suite layout you choose. However, many residents find that a lifestyle of chef-prepared meals, engaging activities and freedom from the worries that come with living at home is notably cost-effective.   • Studio & one bedroom suites start at $3300 per month
  • Two bedroom suites start at $4300 per month
  • Second resident fee $700 per month (or $400 per month for Package B – West Building)

Q: What is included in the monthly rate?

A: 

Package Option 1:

  • Three meals daily
  • Light weekly housekeeping
  • Weekly linen and towel service
  • Complimentary laundry facilities
  • Complimentary shuttle
  • 24-hour beverage and snack bar
  • Utilities: heat, hydro, water, sewer
  • High-definition cable television
  • Wireless internet
  • Local and long-distance phone services
  • Emergency pull cord system
  • Full recreation calendar

Available for Rose, Sunflower, Lady Slipper, Lily, Gladiolus, Wild Rose Villa, Blue Bell, Tulip Villa, Iris, Violet Villa, Crocus Villa and Marigold Suites.

Package Option 2:

  • One meal daily (supper)
  • Opt-in for breakfast and lunch for an additional cost*
  • Light weekly housekeeping
  • Weekly linen and towel service
  • Full kitchen including stove/oven, dishwasher, full-size fridge, and sink
  • Bathroom with tub shower (limited suites with walk-in shower option)
  • Balcony
  • In-suite laundry
  • Complimentary shuttle
  • 24-hour beverage bar
  • Utilities: heat, hydro, water, sewer
  • High-definition cable television
  • Wireless internet
  • Local and long-distance phone services
  • Emergency pull cord system
  • Full recreation calendar

Available for Orchid, Carnation, and Poppy Suites.

Q: What costs are extra?

A:   For an additional charge, residents may choose to add on services such as parking, personal laundry, full meal package (Package Option 2 – Orchid, Carnation, and Poppy Suites) and the use of the guest suite.

The other businesses located in our community for the convenience of our residents operate independently of Rotary Villas.  These businesses include Camelot Personal Care, Southbridge Medical, Flatland Drugs and Ginger Snips Salon.

Q: Is Rotary Villas pet friendly?

A: Yes, we are pet-friendly! We have carefully selected and designed pet friendly suites in the building. We ask that residents bring no more than two pets. All pets are subject to approval by management.
